1. A Journey Across the City
Last weekend, I went on a trip across the capital city with my friends. We lived in a big block of flats, so the city centre was quite close. Early in the morning, we checked the map to decide how to travel. First, we went by bus to the station, then by train to the river area. The view was beautiful — clean water, colourful boats, and people walking on foot near the bridge. We saw many passengers and a friendly ticket seller shouting, “Next please!” When my turn came, I said, “Return to London, please.” He asked, “Single or return?” and I smiled, “Return, please.” He said, “That’s £6.00.” — “Thank you!” — “You’re welcome!”
After that, we continued our journey by boat, enjoying the breeze and the wonderful view of the continent’s most famous buildings. Later, we rode by car, then by motorcycle, and even by taxi to explore the markets. The traffic was busy and the streets were crowded, but everything looked so alive! In the afternoon, we flew by plane to a small island nearby, and from there took a trip by ship. The sea was calm, the air was clean, and the people were cheerful. We ended our day by tube, heading home tired but happy. It wasn’t an expensive trip — everything was quite cheap, but it was full of joy, colours, and adventure — a true masterpiece of travelling across the capital city.

The population was large and friendly, and people spoke more than one language, which made it easy for tourists to communicate. I arrived by trolley bus and was surprised by how clean and well-organized the metro network was — not dirty at all! During the day, I joined a street party, where locals danced, sang, and served local food that was absolutely delicious. There were also horse racing events nearby, and I even won a small prize. The currency was different from mine, so I had to exchange money before buying souvenirs. Everything about the city felt excellent — from the food to the people.
